Surprise Saguaros move home games to Peoria for 2019 fall season

Jul 31, 2019

For the 2019 Arizona Fall League baseball season, the Surprise Saguaros will be playing all scheduled home games at Peoria Sports Complex due to ongoing field renovations at Surprise Stadium.

Surprise Stadium has a distinguished history, gaining national recognition for the ballpark and facilities, and prides itself on upholding that high standard. With the support of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, the City of Surprise moved forward with significant field renovations to enhance playability, skill development and the fan experience. The updates will also have benefits for major league ball clubs and community programs in Surprise.

Field renovations began immediately following the 2019 Spring Training season and will be complete for the 2020 Spring Training season.

The Surprise Saguaros, one of six teams competing in the Arizona Fall League, will begin their season against the Mesa Solar Sox, Wednesday, September 18 at Sloan Park.

The Saguaros’ roster includes top prospects from the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals and New York Yankees.

The team will compete against the Glendale Desert Dogs, Scottsdale Scorpions, Mesa Solar Sox, Peoria Javelinas and Salt River Rafters – each team having assembled the top talent from the 30 Major League Baseball affiliates.

The Surprise Saguaros will return to Surprise Stadium for the 2020 Arizona Fall League season.
