The month of October truly is for baseball, and with the start of the Arizona Fall League, the City of Surprise sets the stage for baseball’s future breakout stars.

Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, have released the 2022 Cactus League Spring Training schedule. Opening Day in Surprise, Arizona is set for Saturday, February 26 with the Texas Rangers taking on the Kansas City Royals at Surprise Stadium.

The Surprise Sundancers, the official Surprise Stadium Spring Training volunteer organization, with the support of the Arizona Community Foundation, awarded $155,000 in scholarships to 95 students from high schools in Surprise, El Mirage, Youngtown or Wickenburg. They also distributed funding to 12 non-profit organizations supporting local youth education and programs.
