Spring Training in Surprise: Game Day Guide

Spring Training in Surprise will begin tomorrow, Friday, February 23, with the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers hosting the Kansas City Royals. Game time is at 1:05 p.m.

Here is your guide to the 2024 Spring Training season.

Be Game Day Ready!

• Entry gates open 90 minutes before game time. 
• Surprise Stadium is a 100% cashless experience. 
• Parking is free - view parking map.
• Approved bags:
  - Clear tote: plastic, vinyl and does not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  - Small clutch purse: no larger than 5" x 8" with or without a handle or strap
  - Plastic storage bag: clear, one gallon, re-sealable

An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection upon entering. Please limit the number of items you bring to the stadium on event days. See full list of Stadium Policies.

Transportation and Parking - Parking is FREE!
For the safety of pedestrians, there will be a partial closure of Bullard Avenue north and southbound, south of Paradise Lane and north of Tierra Buena Lane.

Scanning Your Tickets on Game Day
Step 1: Open your mobile ticket via MLB Ballpark as you approach the entry gate.
Step 2: Scan your ticket using the scanner at the entry gate and you’re in!

Please remember to download and save your tickets to MLB Ballpark prior to game day.

Spring Training Opening Week Events and Promos

Surprise Sundancers Charity Game: February 24
Support your Surprise Sundancers, a non-profit organization that provides volunteer services at Surprise Stadium. Proceeds from the game are donated to the Sundancers who award youth scholarships to those in Surprise and the Northwest Valley. 

Kids Free Weekend courtesy of Dental Depot: February 24 & 25
Make family memories at the ballpark! Get up to two free kids’ tickets (15 & younger) with the purchase of one adult ticket to opening weekend at Surprise Stadium. Select seating. Offer must be redeemed by phone or in person at the ticket office.  

Stadium Tailgate Party – A World Series Celebration: February 25 
The excitement of the World Series championship continues! During the game, there will be a special World Series trophy appearance and Hall of Fame induction. Then, outside the ballpark from 3 - 7 p.m., enjoy a free post-game tailgate with activities for all ages! (No ticket necessary). Food trucks and craft vendors available for purchase of food and drink.

Kids Run the Bases presented by Uptown Alley: Every Sunday
Following every Sunday game, Spring Training’s youngest fans get to take the field! Each participant will receive a special prize, courtesy of Uptown Alley.

Dental Depot Family Fun Pack: February 25 
Get four lawn tickets, four drinks, four value hot dogs and four popcorns for $50. Family four packs must be purchased in advance; offer will not be available for purchase day of the game.

Storytime at Surprise Stadium: February 28
Join our Surprise Public Library System and experience the magic of storytime at the stadium! Enjoy literacy-focused activities, story time and a Spring Training game from the lawn. Tickets are $5, (children aged 5 & under are free) and must be purchased in advance. Seating is limited.  

Spring Training 5K & 1K Fun Run: March 1
The City of Surprise is bringing fun to running at Surprise Stadium on Friday, March 1, with the 6th Annual Surprise Spring Training 5K & 1K Fun Run presented by Palm Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. Catch the early registration rate and sign up now!
