Policies, Rules & Regulations

Surprise Stadium Complex –Tournament Guide and Policy 

Surprise Stadium and our baseball tournament organizers welcome you to Arizona! As you prepare for your baseball event, please review some of the guidelines, precautions and rules to expect upon your arrival to the Surprise Stadium Complex.

Please make sure to also check your tournament organizer’s guidelines and rules to ensure you are fully prepared for the event.

Surprise Stadium Complex Rules

Prohibited Items:

In order to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests, the following will be enforced:

·       Smoking is not allowed inside any area of the stadium or complex (per Provision Chapters 9.29.404/9.29.050).

·       Firearms or deadly weapons are prohibited.

·       Animals are not permitted, with the exception of certified service animals for guests with disabilities. 

Most Frequent Questions and Answers

Are outside food and drinks permitted at the Surprise Stadium complex?

Outside Food and Beverage are allowed; trash receptacles are conveniently located throughout the stadium complex and trash must be disposed of in these containers.

Parents, coaches and athletes are responsible for providing their own drinking water / individual water bottles. Water fountains will be provided or accessible onsite.

Can we bring a pop-up tent to the Surprise Stadium complex?

Yes, but items are not to be staked into the outdoor field areas regardless of on turf or natural grass.  Weight down systems must be brought to set up pop up tents. Bring your own sandbags or weights.

Are wagons allowed into the Surprise Stadium complex?

Wagons are permitted to be brought into the complex to carry lawn chairs, umbrellas, pop up tents and coolers.

Are pets allowed?

Service animal means a dog that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability. All other animals, including emotional support, comfort or companion animals, are not considered service animals and will not be permitted.  Service animals should remain on a leash and under the control of the owner at all times.

Are there seats and shade available at all field locations?

Shade and seating are limited at the Surprise Stadium Complex. We highly recommend that you bring your own seating (camping chairs, lawn chairs, folding chairs, etc.)

Will there be concessions available for purchase?

Yes, concessions will be available for purchase. All purchases can be made by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.

Where is parking located?

Games will take place at the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers practice facilities, located at 15930 N. Bullard Ave.

Kansas City Royals Practice Complex - parking is located just north of the main stadium, off of Bullard Ave and Paradise Lane.

The City of Surprise and Surprise Stadium Complex do not assume any liability for the theft, damage to vehicles or personal property or for any injury arising from foul balls, broken bats or any occurrence in or around the stadium or stadium complex fields.

For your vehicle security purposes do not leave personal items (pocketbooks, wallets, money, lap tops, credit cards, etc) in your vehicle.

Health & Safety Precautions

Anyone who is feeling sick, regardless of their symptoms, should not attend or play in any  tournament/event at the Surprise Stadium Complex. For all event attendees, we ask that you follow the health tips listed below:

·       Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the

·       bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

·       If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer.

·       Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

·       Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

·       Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

·       Stay home when you are sick.

·       Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and clean your hands.

Surprise Stadium Food & Beverage Policy - Spring Training

Surprise Stadium allows food to be brought into the stadium. The food must be presented in a one-gallon clear ziploc/freezer bag.

  • Factory Sealed Bottle of Water – up to 2 (1 liter) factory sealed water bottles per guest.
  • Empty hydroflask and sports bottles (up to 1 liter) are allowed, with the exception of any glass containers. For convenience, there are water fountains available to fill up your bottles. (MUST BE EMPTY upon entry)
  • Single serving juice boxes, baby food and formula will be permitted. No beverages, other than water or boxed juices will be allowed.
  • Outside alcoholic beverages (as well as non-alcoholic beer and wine) are not allowed in the park, regardless of container.

Rules & Regulations

In order to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests, the following will be enforced:

  • Smoking is not allowed inside any area of the stadium (per Provision Chapters 9.29.404/9.29.050).
  • Firearms or deadly weapons are prohibited.
  • Resale of any tickets within 200 feet of any public entrance is prohibited (ARS 13-3718).
  • Animals are not permitted, with the exception of certified service animals for guests with disabilities.
  • No one is allowed on the field of play without proper credentials; such action will result in automatic ejection and subject to arrest.
  • All strollers and diaper bags must be accompanied by a child.
  • Gates will open approximately 1 ½ hours prior to event time. Times may vary by event.   

The following items are prohibited from being brought into the stadium:

  • No coolers, ice chests or glass containers.
  • No lawn or legged chairs.
  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • All items being brought into the stadium must be able to fit under a standard stadium seat, and are subject to search and inspection.

Beware of Objects Leaving the Playing Field!

Backpacks/Bags:

In an effort to enhance public safety, Surprise Stadium has modified its security policy by limiting the size and style of bags allowed in the stadium. 

Approved Bags: 

  • Clear Tote - plastic, vinyl and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • Small Clutch Purse - No larger than 5" x 8" with or without a handle or strap.
  • Plastic Storage Bag - Clear, one (1) gallon, re-sealable

 Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items or single compartment diaper bags (child must be present). Please limit the number of items you bring to the stadium on event days.

Rain Out Policy or Game Cancellation

There are no refunds or exchanges unless an official game is not played. In the event that 5 innings of one game are not played, except when the home team is in the lead at the end of 4 1/2 innings, the following policy will apply:

Refund Policy

If a game for which you purchased tickets through an authorized Surprise Stadium outlet is cancelled, rescheduled, postponed or has restricted capacity that prohibits the specific seats you purchased from being used, the ticket value of the impacted game(s) will be refunded in the same manner by which the ticket(s) were purchased and will be automatically processed within 30 days of the date of the cancelled game. A full refund will be automatically processed to the method of payment used at time of purchase, including service fees (if applicable). Except as expressly stated herein, all sales are final and there are no refunds. 

Complimentary tickets may not be refunded or exchanged under any circumstances.

Exchange Policy (Due to an Official Game Cancellation)

If a game is officially cancelled, all paid tickets purchased through an authorized Surprise Stadium outlet may be exchanged at the Surprise Stadium Box Office only for any future 2024 Spring Training Game at Surprise Stadium for the same home team. Exchanges are subject to seat availability on a game-by-game basis. Exchanges are available at the Surprise Stadium Box Office prior to the originally scheduled event date; otherwise, a full refund will be processed. All refunds are subject to the Surprise Stadium Refund Policy above.

Complimentary tickets may not be refunded or exchanged under any circumstances.
 

2024 Surprise Stadium Ticket Assurance

As we prepare for the 2024 season, we are dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our fans with enhanced precautions and procedures, while continuing to provide the great ballpark experience to which you are accustomed.

If, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a game for which you purchased tickets is cancelled, rescheduled, postponed or has restricted capacity that prohibits the specific seats you purchased from being used, the ticket value of the impacted game(s) will be refunded in the same manner by which the ticket(s) were purchased. Except as expressly stated herein, all sales are final and there are no refunds.
