Spring Training ‘Welcome Back’ Reception with Mayor Sartor, KC Royals & TX Rangers set for Feb. 18

Join the City of Surprise and Mayor Kevin Sartor as we roll out the red carpet for the return of Spring Training at the 24th Annual Mayor’s Welcome Back Reception, a longtime tradition that officially sets the season in motion.

The celebration takes place Wednesday, February 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Surprise Stadium, bringing together City leaders, team partners and baseball fans for an early-season gathering in one of Arizona’s premier Spring Training destinations.

Speakers from the City of Surprise, along with representatives from the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals, will help launch the 2026 Spring Training season, marking another exciting year of Major League Baseball in Surprise.

This happy hour style reception will feature chef-crafted hors d’oeuvres and light bites from Barrio Queen, a commemorative keepsake and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere designed for connecting, celebrating and welcoming everyone back to the ballpark.
